A decades-long tradition connects the Ingolstadt-based patent law firm CANZLER & BERGMEIER with China. As early as 1986, with the beginning of the Patent Law in China, first patent applications were filed in China by the co-founder of the firm, Rolf Canzler. Meanwhile, the firm maintains an active contact with over 80 Chinese clients and law firms. Visits, for example in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, take place regularly. Delegations from China are often welcomed to our firm in Ingolstadt.
CANZLER & BERGMEIER advises and represents Chinese clients in obtaining German and European patents, utility models, design and trademarks. Together with the Chinese clients or their representatives we develop strategies for economic and effective protection of their own products. In particular, for market entry in Germany or Europe, CANZLER & BERGMEIER examines in advance existing protective rights to avoid infringement allegations, for example when Chinese clients participate in trade shows.
For German clients CANZLER & BERGMEIER uses its established network in China to gain their own intellectual property rights in China and to enforce them, if necessary. To avoid infringement of Chinese intellectual property rights of third parties, CANZLER & BERGMEIER investigates the local protection rights situation by own searches and, where appropriate, with the support of Chinese partners.
